Other Programs

All WPS elementary schools are able to serve students who qualify for English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) support and do not require special assignment.

Students may be assigned to Adams Elementary as part of the Newcomer program if they have very recently moved to the United States as an immigrant or refugee and need more intense support to learn English as well as school and life skills. In these programs, students learn alongside others who are also new to the country.

Adams Elementary specializes in economics and entrepreneurship. This means that students attend an economics class every week. This has provided students with amazing opportunities. Some of those opportunities are visiting the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City, participating in Money Smart Week, earning Eagle Bucks through everyday responsibilities to use at the Adams Trading Post, open a savings account at Meritrust Bank, and much more.
